Shellrock Creek holds eight campsites, each distinct in size and privacy, some spacious enough to host five or more two-person tents. Sites further from the parking area sit close to the creek, where running water nearby helps keep mosquitoes at bay. The amenities are simple but thoughtful: a hand-built hole-in-the-ground toilet and a garbage dump station that campers appreciate for its convenience. Water taps near selected sites provide fresh running water, a rare luxury that reduces the need to haul heavy jugs. Though cell service fades to nothing here, many campers welcome the disconnection, planning meetups carefully before arrival. The campground’s upkeep has noticeably improved recently, reflecting the care taken to preserve its peaceful character.
